Bernard J. Roy 75 of Chatham went to be with his Lord on Monday at the Hospice Inn at St Peter's Hospital. Mr. Roy born April 16, 1937 in Burlington, Vt. Is the son of the late Eugene and Bertha (Provencher) Roy. He graduated from Albany High School.He was employed with several Companies in Albany and Hudson area. He moved to Chatham in 1963 and was employed with McGuire and Co. in Hudson as a draftsman for many years, retiring in 1997. Mr. Roy owned and operated an upholstery business for many years as well. He is a communicant of St James R. C. Church Chatham, Knights of Columbus having served as Grand Knight. Mr. Roy is survived by his wife of 52 years Eleanor (Howder) Roy of Chatham 4 devoted children Jeanie and husband Don Barnes of Tampa, Fl. Lynn and husband Walter Doughty of West Babylon, N.Y. Michael Roy of Virginia Beach, Va. Lisa and Husband David Ward of Powells Point, N.C. Survived by Sisters Arlene, Carol, Maryann, Sheila and husband Nick and Claire. Survived also by 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren. A memorial mass will be held Thursday 11:00am at the St James R.C. Church Chatham Inurnment will be in the St. James Cemetery.
