Brandon S.
Pitcher
May 6, 1992 — Jul 27, 2019
Brandon Scott Pitcher, 27, of Chatham NY passed away unexpectedly Saturday, July 27th 2019.
He was born to Robert and Lynette Pitcher in on May 6th, 1992.
Brandon enjoyed racing and starting racing Go-Carts at the age of 8 at the Albany-Saratoga Speedway. He then moved on to the sportsman division. He recorded several wins in both carting and the sportsman division. He started in the 358 modified division a few years back and had several very impressive finishes this season, looking for sure like he was going to get his first 358 modified win. He had the passion for racing like his dad, and they would spend hours together at their race shop working on their cars to compete. Brandon was taking a week off to rebuild his engine when this tragedy took him from us. Like his father and grandfather before him, Brandon was a natural mechanic and tinkerer, fixing anything he came across from motorcycles to heavy machinery, first working for the family business, Ryder Trucking, and most recently with Bervy Excavation. He was especially proud of attaining his associates degree as an automotive technician from Columbia Greene Community College.
Brandon was an enthusiastic member of his community, coaching the Chatham Varsity Volleyball team. He always had an open heart and a helping hand to give to anyone in need.
As passionate as Brandon was about racing his family meant the world to him. His best friend and High School sweetheart, Brittany Elaine Cornelius was the love of his life, along with their son Wyatt, and baby expected in January. Brandon enjoyed sharing his passion of mechanics with Wyatt. They spent many hours building blocks, putting race car tracks together, and playing cars. Wyatt loved spending time at the race car shop with his dad to get ready for Saturday night racing at Lebanon valley Speedway. Brandon enjoyed cooking, Wednesday night family dinners at the Cornelius', and watching the New York Giants Football on Sundays. Brandon brought so much joy to everyone he was around. He was a ray of sunshine that will shine on forever.
In addition to his parents Robert and Lynette, Brandon is survived by his fiancé and lifetime partner Brittany Elaine Cornelius. He is also survived by his brother Robert (Britney), sister Robyn (Jordan), and grandparents Michele and Rudy Perini. He is also survived by many uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his paternal grandparents, William and Ruth Pitcher.
Calling hours will be held Thursday August 1 2019 from 4:00 - 7:00 PM at the Wenk Funeral Home.
