Catherine(Cathy) Gray Crellin passed away  on April 10, 2017 at St Peter's Hospital.  Ms. Crelllin, the daughter of the late John R. and Catherine (Summerfield) Crellin was born on February 11, 1947  in Stamford, Connecticut and spent most of her life residing in Spencertown, New York. Cathy graduated from Chatham High School in 1964. She attended Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts before completing her undergraduate degree at New York University.  She also held a Master's Degree in Education from The College of St. Rose in Albany, New York..

Cathy worked for many years in early childhood education at the Mary E. Dardess Elementary School in Chatham, New York and was later employed at COARC.  She was a long-time member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church in Chatham. Cathy had a lifelong love of  dogs and horses especially her canine companion Smokey.

She is survived by her brother John Crellin, sister Mary Crellin, nieces Madeleine Hoog-Crellin, Juliette Crellin and Lilly Crellin, grand-nieces Josephine and Caroline Crawford and cousins including Steve, Pete, Jane and Dan Crellin. Calling hours will be Tuesday April 18  5-7pm from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham. Private Interment service will be in the Spencertown Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Columbia Greene Humane Society, St Luke's Episcopal Church, Crellin Park or the Spencertown Fire Department.
