Donald F. Erickson, 83, of Kinderhook, New York, passed away on July 11, 2020 in Albany, New York and is now with Christ Jesus whom he loved so much.

Known lovingly as Tex, Don, Donny, or Dad, he was born June 10, 1937 in Hudson, New York to William and Edna Erickson. He graduated from Hudson High School in 1956.  He was a U.S. Veteran of nine years, serving in the Army National Guard (1954-1957), the United States Army (1957-1959), and the United States Air Force (1959-1963). He was active in various church communities throughout his life, notably Clermont Bible Church and Flat Brook Baptist Church, where he served as Treasurer.

He was a professional bus-driver his whole working life, notably with Mountain View Coach Lines in Coxsackie and various Columbia County public transport companies.

More than this, Don was a devout Christian who in his life walked the way of Grace and Forgiveness. He was Dad to six adoring children, ten grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren who looked to him as a good listener, humble hero, faithful servant, and wonderful father. He was also a loyal and steadfast friend, especially to the love of his life, Sharon.

Donald F. Erickson is preceded in death by his mother and father, William and Edna Erickson, his stepmother, Flora Erickson, and his sisters Janise Sweeda and Clair White.
