Obituary

Donald J. (D.J.) Slocum Jr. 51 of Chatham died Saturday at Albany Medical Center following a logging accident. Mr. Slocum born September 7,1959 in Potsdam, N.Y. is the son of the late Donald J. Slocum Sr. and Margery (Goodrich) Slocum of Henderson, N.Y. Mr .Slocum grew up in Spencertown, N.Y. He graduated Chatham High School and then served 6 years with the U.S. Marines. He was employed as truck driver for Mabey's Moving and Storage in Rensselaer for several years and for several years he drove truck over the road for several area trucking companies. For the past several years he was employed with Tommy Faxon Excavation in Chatham. He was an avid Nascar Fan, and involved with local dirt stock car racing, an avid Hunter and enjoyed country music. Besides his mother Margery of Henderson, N.Y. he is survived by Brothers Brad Coolidge of Adams Center, N.Y. Gregg Coolidge of Deltona, Fl. He was predeceased by his father Donald J.Slocum Sr. and Brother Steven Coolidge. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening 6-9pm from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham. There are no funeral services.
