New Lebanon, NY-Doris Smith Wadsworth "Dot", 100, of New Lebanon, NY died peacefully on Monday, March 1, 2021 at her home.

Born January 6, 1921, she was the daughter of William B and Sara Strang Smith. She graduated from the New Britain School, a one room schoolhouse, in 1936 at the age of 15. She then pursued training in the secretarial field. She was ultimately employed as an administrative assistant at George Rickey Workshop.

Dot married Vincent D. Wadsworth on June 1 ^st , 1941 and they raised four children. She frequently served as their "classroom" mother. She also volunteered for the New Lebanon Library, and Meals on Wheels. She was a member of the Brainard Methodist Church in New Lebanon. She was also a member of the Lebanon Valley Women's Club, The East Chatham Grange, and Canaan Senior Citizens Club.

One of her biggest passions in life was baking, much to the delight of her grandchildren. Her pies and coffee cakes were renowned, and her cookie jar was always full. She was also an avid seamstress, knitter, gardener, and reader.

Dot is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Vincent Dow, her daughter, Holly Suzanne, her parents, and her brother Robert Smith and his wife Martha.

She is survived by her three sons David Vincent (Ruth) of Littleton, Colorado, William Allen (Norma) of Baldwinsville, NY, and Christopher Dow (Cathy) of East Chatham, NY; five grandchildren David (Sarah) Wadsworth, Abbey (Adam) Serfass, Shannon Wadsworth (Jack Bulischeck), Sean Wadsworth (Rachel Hamilton), Heather Wadsworth (Chris Downey); and seven great grandchildren, Ellie, Bea, Joseph, Holly, Verity, Gaius, and Haven.

It was Dot's wish to be cremated and forego calling hours and funeral services. The family will gather privately to celebrate, honor, and remember her life.
