Obituary

Dorothy McQuade Hover left this life on January 19, 2020 at home.  Born on March 1, 1927 to Frederick and Elizabeth Steuerwald McQuade, Dot lived most of her life in Spencertown moving to Chatham 40 years ago.  She was retired from Chatham Central School District having started her career as the school crossing guard in Spencertown and retiring as the School Lunch Manager.  She was an active member of St. Lukes Church, Episcopal in Chatham having served in many capacities on vestry and Altar guild. She spent her life helping anyone in need.

Dot is survived by her children Frank (Barbara) of Boxford, ma; Edward (ann) of Murrell's Inlet, S. Carolina; Dorothy of Ghent; Richard of Catskill; Margaret (Kevin Johnson) of Chatham, 15 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her nephew David McQuade and her niece, Ivy Brockley.  Beside her parents, she was predeceased by her husband Frank and her brother Rev. Frederick McQuade.

Friends may call on her family at St. Luke's Church Episcopal from 12 to 2 on Saturday, January 25 th .  A funeral service will follow at 2pm. With interment in Spencertown immediately following.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Dot's name to either St. Luke's Church, 12 Woodbridge Ave, Chatham, Ny 12037 or the Austerlitz Historical Society, at 11550 State route 22, Austerlitz, Ny 12017.
