Dorothy Louise (Lant) Mackerer, Passed away at age 90 at her home in East Chatham surrounded by her loving family.

Dorothy graduated from Chatham High school in 1946 and soon after married her high school sweetheart, Richard Mackerer. Together they built and ran a family dairy farm Peaceable Farms for 25 years.

During those years they started their family which totaled seven children. Today that family inludes 20 grand-children and 17 great grandchildren.

Jean (Paul) Swiatek  Kim, Erik, Skip of Denver Colorado, Jim ( Linda ) Mackerer Jay, Andrew and Matt of Claverack NY, Rich ( Marsha) Mackerer Casten, Kelly,and Clint of Corpus Christie, Sue ( Mitch) Lathers, Jarrett, Aaron, Crystal and Amy of Monterey VA, Lynn ( Dave) Clatworthy, Nick and Brett of Argyle NY,  Tom ( Peggy)  Mackerer Sam and Jon, of Ghent NY, Tim ( Kelly) Mackerer,  Ryan and Christine of East Chatham, NY.    She was predeased by her Husband Richard and a grand-daughter Paige Olivia.

Dorothy's passions were local history, dealing in antiques, working with the community , and serving on the Chatham Planning board. She also attended the East Chatham United Methodist Church, where she played the organ for many years.                                                                 She enjoyed any activity that the children and grandchildren were involved in.

Funeral Service will be Saturday Feb. 16, 10:30am from the East Chatham United Methodist Church Followed by an interment service at Mountainview Cemetery in New Concord
