Dorothy A. Perry, 87, of Austerlitz NY and Ruskin FL, died peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family on August 16, 2018. She was born October 19, 1930 in Albany, NY to parents Elmer and Gertrude Hammon Badertscher. Dorothy attended Chatham High School and married the love of her life Donald Perry. They celebrated 69 years of marriage last October. In addition she was a loving mother and grandmother who will be greatly missed. She was a charter member of the Austerlitz VFC Ladies ' Auxilliary, a member of St. Peter ' s Presbyterian Church and the Austerlitz Historical Society. Dorothy is predeceased by her sisters Janice Hayes, Shirley Bridenbecker, Dawn Badertscher and brother Fred Lamphere. Surviving in addition to her husband are her siblings: Emma Jensen, Evelyn Keefner, Margy Quinn, Isabel Koch, Gail DelSonno, James Badertscher, her children: Donald (Sandy) Perry of Louisville, KY, Lynn (Paul) Baumann of Sheffield, MA, David (Shirley) Perry of Chatham, NY and Chris (John) Perry of Chicago, IL, 7 grandchildren: Kevin, Tony, Ben, Christopher, Megan, Mark, Amy, 14 great grandchildren: Brandon, Stephanie, Kirsten, Kevin Jr., Jayson, Alex, Olivia, Hailey, Cheyanne, Lucas, Gianna, Lily, Cole, Jett, and her loving and devoted caretaker, Theresa Martin. Calling hours will be held on Monday from 10-12, followed by a Celebration of Life service from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham.
