Dorothy Esther Walker Crellin quietly passed away at the age of 90 on December 30,2012 at Whittier Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing facility. She was born on November 7,1922 and lived her childhood in Canaan, N.Y.and summers at Queechy Lake. She graduated from the Northfield School for Girls in Ma. and received a degree in Early Elementary Education from Oberlin College in Ohio. Dorothy was married to Richard S.Crellin of Chatham for 53 years until his death in 1996. They were long-time residents of Chatham, raising four children. She was active member of the First Reformed Church in Chatham for many years and since the 1970's she was also active in the Canaan Congregational Church. Dorothy is survived by her 3 sons, Steve, Peter and Dan and daughter Jane. Five Grandchildren Robin, Ryan, Spencer, Tyler and Hayden. Four Great Grandchildren , Chester, Ellie and Skylar , Colton. Dorothy will rest with her husband in the Canaan Cemetery. A memorial service will be announced and held in the Spring.
