Douglas "Doug" G. Cornoni, 80, of Chatham, New York, passed on 1/10/2019 at St. Peter's Hospice Inn in Albany, having succumbed to pneumonia.

Survived by his wife Shirley (Bergerson) Cornoni of Hudson, New York, his son Bryan and daughter Sherri, and two wonderful granddaughters Lauren and Scarlet. Predeceased by his brother Ronny, mother Abbie (Waters) Cornoni and father David Cornoni.  Doug served honorably in the United States Navy and returned to Chatham where he worked for and retired, after 22 years, from the school system.

Doug was a lay minister in the area for the United Methodist church, volunteered with the East Chatham Fire Company, and was a member of the American Legion Post 42. He enjoyed playing chess, listening to country music, and spending time with friends bowling.  In his youth he was a member of DeMolay.  As well, he was a Master Mason of Unity Lodge #9, F&AM, and Columbia Lodge #98, F&AM.

A memorial service will be held at Wenk Funeral Home, 21 Payn Ave, Chatham, NY 12037 on January 19 ^th at 10:00 AM.  In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the East Chatham Fire Company 14 Frisbee St, East Chatham, NY 12060, or the United Methodist Church, NY Route 295, East Chatham, NY 12060.
