Obituary

Eileen P. Goodermote passed away peacefully in Blairsville, GA on March 13, 2026. A native of Upstate New York, Eileen was born on May 28, 1945 to Raymond and Virginia (Frederick) Doyle. She graduated from Columbia High School, and met and married Raymond R. Goodermote, Jr. in July of 1965.Together, they settled in Chatham, NY and raised three children. Eileen enjoyed camping, hunting and fishing, riding motorcycles, and had a love of all things NASCAR. In addition to being a homemaker and mother, Eileen was employed by the Chatham Central School District serving nutritious lunches to students, and also worked for a time at Delson's Department Store in Chatham. She also enjoyed volunteering at the Mac Haydn Theatre in Chatham, working at the concessions booth.In her retirement years, she developed a love of genealogy, and worked on tracing her family's lineage. Eileen was a proud member of the National Society Daughters of the American Revolution, Old Unicoi Trail Chapter, in Blairsville, GA and loved to attend chapter meetings with her daughter, Patti. Eileen was also a descendant of Mayflower passenger George Soule.Eileen was predeceased by her husband, Raymond R. Goodermote, Jr., her parents, Raymond and Virginia (Frederick) Doyle, her sister Beverly (Neale) Hood, her brother Gary Doyle, and a nephew, Thomas Every. Eileen leaves behind her daughter, Patricia (Laurence) Davis, of Morganton, GA her son,Raymond, of Albany, NY, her daughter Jacqueline Lerch of Suwanee, GA, two grandchildren, Audrey Davis and Laurence Davis, Jr, and her sister, Linda Lindemann of Clifton Park, NY.The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the caring staff at Stonehenge Senior Living in Blairsville, GA and Pruitt Health Hospice in Blue Ridge, GA.

A visitation will be held at Mountain View Funeral Home in Blairsville, GA on March 19, 6-9pm. A private memorial service will be held at Wenk Funeral Home in Chatham, NY at a later date, with internment in Ghent Union Cemetery, Ghent, NY to follow.
