Elizabeth Chapin Douglas Barrows passed away Thursday October 8,2009 quietly in her home in Kinderhook Betty was born in Windsor Locks CT, October 5, 1920 loving daughter to John and Henrietta. After graduation from the Milne Academy, she spent her adult life traveling and absorbing the cultures the world with her Army officer husband, before settling in Kinderhook 38 years ago. Her Kinderhook years were spent with various projects including teaching farm worker families reading, and Secretary/ Treasurer of the Village. She was a long time Master Gardener and contributing editor to the CGCE newsletter, and one of the talented artists of the Malden Bridge School. Betty is survived by her brother John Douglas and wife Betty ; her children Richard Barrows, Scott Barrows and Susan Butterfield, seven Grandchildren and 3 Great Grandchildren. . There will be a memorial Service at 2:30 from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham NY.
