Betty's artistic talents led her through a career as an illustrator for other organizations, always bringing an elegant and clever voice to her work. Betty married her husband Bob in 1971 and were inseparable in 55 years of marriage, always holding hands and supporting each other with a gentle ease. As husband and wife, they carried a simple genuine devotion to care for those around them. Throughout her life, Betty generously gave her time and heart to aging friends and family members, by preparing meals, helping with their daily routine, or simply making time to visit and offer companionship. Betty bravely endured Alzheimer's Disease with a quiet resilience. The family is grateful for the love, kindness, care, and support from her caregivers; Brenda Helm for her uplifting presence, and to Penny Martino and Susan MacCormack, who over the past two years brought Betty so much comfort, compassion, and countless smiles when she needed them most. The caring people at Community Hospice- Judy, Keith, Chaplain Matt, Dawn, and many others were a remarkable presence and source of comfort in her final years. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years, Bob; her son, Rob (Delphene) Mooney; her daughter, Erin (Mark) Lefebre; and her cherished grandchildren, Estelle and Roman. Betty also held a special place in her heart for the many furry family members. She cherished all creatures, and her home was filled with animals in need that found their way to her doorstep. They brought endless happiness to her life. Betty will be remembered for her kind smile, her compassionate nature, her artistic creativity, and love for her family. Arrangements and a private family service will be handled by Wenk Funeral Home, with burial at Ghent Union Cemetery beside her parents, Rudolf and Elespet, her uncle Richard Greene, and her brother Richard Kipper. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Community Hospice Foundation, 310 South Manning Boulevard, Albany, NY 12208.
