Evelyn J. Keefner of Austerlitz, NY passed away peacefully on December 24, 2025. Born on June 5, 1934, she was the daughter of Gertrude and Elmer Badertscher.

On October 30, 1954 she married Robert "Bob" Keefner and they made their home in Austerlitz. Over her lifetime, Evelyn worked as a telephone operator, waitress and as a housekeeper for various homes in the area. She was a member of St. Peter's Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school for many years, the Women's Guild of St. Peter's Church and the Ladies Auxiliary of the Austerlitz Fire Company. She enjoyed sewing,bingo, and occasional trips to casinos. Her biggest joy in life was family time.

She was predeceased by her husband Bob, grandson Alan Keefner, son-in-law Edward Bregman and many of her

siblings. She is survived by her daughters Kim (Keefner) Bregman, and Denise Bailey, sons Todd Keefner(Kimberly), Robert Keefner(Debra), Bruce Keefner,and Jeffrey Keefner(Elizabeth), and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Isabel Koch and Margy Quinn.

The family would like to thank Hillcrest Commons in Pittsfield, Massachusetts for the compassionate care given to our mom during her stay there.
