Franklin W. Fiero 95 of Chatham died Monday at his residence. Mr. Fiero born February 20,1916 in Chatham is the son of the late Grover Cleveland and Martha (Powell) Fiero. He graduated from Chatham High School 1935. He was a veteran of WWII from 1942 - 1945 in the U.S. Army having served in the Aleutian Islands and awarded the WWII Victory Medal, American Campaign Medal, Asiatic Pacific Campaign Medal, Bronze Star and Good Conduct Medal. He also served in the Army Corp of Engineers building the Alaskan Highway. Mr. Fiero was employed with the Columbia Corporation in Chatham for 34 years retiring in 1980. He was life member of the Hudson Elks and past member of the U.S. Trotting Asscociation. He was member of the Empire Driving Club, life member of the American Legion. Frank loved his family, hunting, planting his garden, Kelly's legs and his desserts. He is survived by his wife of 65 years Jeanette (Jones) Fiero of Chatham,Sons Paul K.Fiero and Franklin (Scott) Fiero, Nephew Henry(Veronica) Decker and Niece Frances Rankin. He was Predeceased by Sisters Dorothy Jennings and Justina Decker. Calling hour will be Saturday 10:30 with a funeral to follow at 11:30am from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham.
