Fred Scaglione November 16th, 1949 - August 6th, 2015 Chatham, N.Y. - Frederick Robert Scaglione, 65, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 6th, 2015 surrounded by family and loved ones. Born November 16th, 1949 in New York City to Frank and Winifred ("Peg") Scaglione, he was the Editor and Founder of the New York Non-Profit Press and was the former Assistant Commissioner of the New York City Child Welfare Administration. He graduated from Bishop Riley High School in Queens, NY and attended Queens College where he received his Bachelor of Science Degree and graduated from the New School University with his Masters Degree in Public Administration. An avid reader, Fred was an active member and co-founder of the local non-fiction book club and enjoyed being a part of the community attending plays, movies and local establishments as well as visiting family and friends. Fred married Birgit Rasmussen on May 11th, 1985 in Brooklyn, NY. Birgit predeceased Fred on November 4th, 2011. He is survived by his two sons; Thomas (Lauren) Scaglione and Adam Scaglione. Fred is also survived by his close friend and partner, Wendy Conway. A memorial service is scheduled for Saturday, August 15th, 2015 at the Christ Our Emmanuel Church, 19 Park Row, Chatham, NY at 11 A.M.
