Gerard Charles Palladino, 84, passed away peacefully in his home with his family and wife of 63 years by his side, on June 2nd, 2023.

A resident of Chatham Center New York, Gerard "Jerry" was the youngest of three boys. He was predeceased by his brothers Anthony "Buddy" Palladino, James "Jimmy" Palladino and cousin John "Jack" Paladino.

He is survived by his loving wife, Betsy Goold Palladino of Chatham Center, their son Scott (Kathleen Shaw), daughter Joanne (Ralph Mitchell), and three grandchildren Chelsea, Cassidy, and Carissa Palladino.

Born on July 25th, 1938 in Astoria, Queens, he was the son of the late Antonio Palladino and Antoinette DeSalvo Palladino. When he was 8 years old, his family moved from Queens to Columbia County, where they bought and ran a dairy farm in Chatham Center.

His parents moved him from Lebanon school district to Chatham High School to study agriculture, where at the age of 17, Jerry met his wife Betsy Goold.

It was love at first sight, and they were married on December 26th, 1960.

Jerry moved on from farming to start Palladino Brothers Tree Service with Buddy and Jimmy, which he eventually went on to run himself for many years.

He loved the outdoors, traveling, the New York Giants and pizza, but most of all he loved his family. Jerry was an influential force in the lives of everyone around him and particularly enjoyed watching his grandchildren learn and grow throughout the years. He never missed an opportunity to celebrate or support his family, and he will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Calling hours will be  Tuesday June 6,  from 6-8pm, from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham and the funeral service will be held Wednesday  at 11:00am from the funeral home, followed by a burial in Chatham Center Cemetery.

All family and friends are welcome to enjoy a celebration of his life at his home in Chatham Center after the burial.
