Ginette A. Maure 84 of Canaan died Sunday at Bay State Medical Center after a brief illness. Mrs. Maure born September 5, 1930 in Paris, France is the daughter of the late Marius and Marie (Garconnet) Bellier. In November of 1956 she married her beloved husband the late Claude J. Maure (1985) During their 29 years together they built a home and life on Queechy Lake, operating or acting as chiefs at several restaurants in the area such as the Stony Kill and Depot 22. In her later years, Ginette was a private person that loved gardening, feeding the birds and being with old friends. She was especially fond of the weekly social lunch gatherings at the town hall with the Senior Citizens group. She is survived by her sister Norma Ponard and Niece Valerie McFarland.
