Obituary

Helen L. Dunavin 94 of Albany Turnpike Rd. East Chatham died Monday at her home surrounded by loved ones. Mrs. Dunavin born July 2, 1920 in Hayward, Wisconsin is the daughter of the late Samuel S. and Wista (Eytcheson) Pierce. She was married in 1929 to the late Jon Dunavin ( 1986) and moved to Chatham in 1944 . She was employed at the former Hay Rake in Canaan, N.Y. as well as the Berkshire Farm for Youth. She also owned and operated Jon's Diner in New Lebanon, N.Y. for 20 years. Mrs. Dunavin is survived by her 4 sons, Douglas D., Nathan E., Richard E. all of East Chatham, Robert E. of Canaan and 2 Daughters Nancy E. Schwarzmueller of Naples, Fl and Nola J. Goetchius of Coxsacki, N.Y. Survived also by 8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brother Robert Pierce. Funeral Services will be held Friday 10:00am from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham. Interment will be in the Cemetery of The Maples. Calling hours Thursday 5 - 7pm.
