Jane Simmons Lappies, 92, of Chatham, New York passed away peacefully on January 24.

Born on June 7, 1927, she grew up in Chatham and graduated in the Chatham High School class of 1945.

She was a graduate of the Mildred Elley Business School of Albany and was a licensed real estate broker during the 70s and 80s.

Jane married Marine Corps veteran Bob Lappies of Chatham in 1946 and raised four children, Susan, Jeffrey, Sally and

Stephen here in the village and at their beloved Queechy Lake home.

Jane was predeceased by husband Bob, daughter Susan, son Stephen and daughter-in-law Pam Lappies.

She is survived by her daughter Sally, son Jeff, and grandchildren Daniel and Cristian Lappies, Justin Dembski,

Sara Mesick and great grandchild Eli Lappies.
