Mother. Grandmother. Great Grandmother. Friend. Janice Muriel Ellis peacefully passed away at home on Sunday, January 14th in Glenville, NY, at the age of 89. Known especially for her deep faith and love for all children, Janice devoted her time and energy to her family, church, and community.

On October 8, 1950, she married James Francis Ellis in Poughkeepsie, NY.

She worked for Sealtest Ice Cream and as the Cook Manager at Poughkeepsie High School. As a member of First Reformed Church of Poughkeepsie and First Reformed Chatham, she served as a member of the church choir. Recently she attended First Reformed Church of Scotia.

Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne and Elizabeth Ellis of Boulder, CO, and Kevin and Kathleen Ellis of Schenectady, NY; four grandchildren, Meghann, Trevor, Clayton, and Emily; and great grandchildren William and Allison.

She was predeceased by her husband, sisters Faye Clark and Mary Bowman, and her brother, Roger Heermans.
