Lamberdina "Dinie" Lubbers Ooms passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday January 6th, 2026, to be with The Lord.

She was Born in Zevenaar, Holland on June 4, 1937 to Herbert and Willemina Vleming Lubbers.

Dinie was raised in occupied Holland - many tales of which she would pass on to her family - and in her teen years she attended sewing school so that she could work making clothing.At the age of 19, she immigrated with her family to Castleton, NY, where shortly thereafter she met Adrianus Ooms at a square dance. The two were married in November 1959 and moved to their dairy farm in Old Chatham where they raised their 5 children.  During this time, Dinie worked at an insurance agency in Albany, made bridal dresses, and managed the snack bar at the Chatham Area Auction for many years. She was one of the founding members of the Columbia County Dairy Promotion and ran the Milk Shed at the Chatham Fair. In her later years, she and Adrian traveled to many countries around the world, and also enjoyed hosting agriculture exchange students from various nations in their home. Dinie was a member of the Ghent Bible Baptist Church, and always kept busy - she loved having visitors, birthday parties, decorating for Christmas, keeping flowers, and playing cards. Many will remember her delicious Dutch butter cookies, the countless afghan blankets she crocheted, and the way she loved to spoil her grandchildren.

She is predeceased by her parents, and her sisters Annie Hoyt and Bernie Barbin. She is survived by her brother Harry, her sister Wilma, as well as her husband of 66 years, Adrianus, who demonstrated his devoted commitment to her well being through her care at home the final years of her life, with the dedicated support from their daughter Cindy, their sons, and nearby family members. Dinie cherished her family and would be so proud of them all.  Her children are Cindy (Jay) Meyers , Ronnie, Randy (Elizabeth), Timmy (Kris), Eric (Catherine Joy), as well as 14 grandchildren: Lindsay, Kevin and Bethany (Kal Lezak) Meyers; Arielle, Megan (Tyler Naginewicz), Katelyn Ooms; Joshua (Briana), Justin (Sarah) Ooms; Emily & Brendan Ooms; Arend, Grace, Noah, and Micah Ooms. And 4 great-grandchildren Lucy, Jameson, Myla, and Ava Ooms.

Calling hours will be held from 4pm-7pm this Friday, January 9th at the Wenk Funeral Home in Chatham, NY. Memorial services will take place on Saturday, January 10th at the Ghent Bible Baptist Church at 10:30am followed by a reception at the Kinderhook Elks Lodge.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ghent Bible Baptist Church/Columbia Christian Academy in Ghent, Niverville Fire Company or Tri Village Fire Company in Old Chatham.
