Margery S. Mooney of Canaan NY passed away at Columbia Memorial hospital on 7/12/13 after a brief illness. Margery was born in Boston, MA on September 25, 1938. She was the daughter of George and Florence Smith, both deceased. Margery was also predeceased by her husband Edward J. Mooney whom she married on April 18, 1964. Margery is survived by her loving children Kent Mooney of New Lebanon and her daughter and Son-In-law, Heather and Michael O'Grady of Canaan. She also leaves her sister and brother-in-law, Janet and William Davis of VT. Margery graduated from Dedham High school in 1956. After graduating, Marge worked as a secretary at North Eastern University before moving to Canaan where she worked for The Berkshire Farm Center for many years. Margery then held various other positions, eventually retiring from the B3 Solid Waste and Transfer Station in Canaan. Margery was a communicant of the Church of Our Saviour in New Lebanon. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for many years. She was an avid reader and enjoyed solving crossword puzzles. Her favorite activity was playing the slots with her friend Sue. Marge was an usher at the Theatre Barn in New Lebanon at the time of her death. There will be a memorial service for Margery S. Mooney of Canaan NY at 2 pm on Thursday, July 18, 2013 at the Church of Our Saviour , 14660 State Route 22, New Lebanon, NY.
