Patrick H. Flood Jr. 90 of White Mills Rd. Chatham died Wednesday at Albany Veteran's Administration Hospital following a long battle of Parkinson's disease. Mr. Flood born May 5,1922 in Chatham is the son of the late Patrick and Harriet (Carrigan) Flood Sr. He is a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp as an aircraft mechanic in the Phillipines from 1943 - 1945. Mr. Flood known to many as Harry, married Dorothy (Williams) and together they operated a dairy farm for many years. In the 1960's he became a licensed welder and was employed on many atomic power plants and nuclear submarines in Groton,Ct. Besides his wife Dottie of 65 years, who continues to live at the family home in Chatham, He is survived by his children Eileen (Frank) Allard of Ghent, Larry (Barbara) Flood of Valatie, Patrick (Marge) Flood of Winthrop, Maine, David Flood of Chatham, and Gayle ( Bill) Podell of Stuyvesant Falls, Brother of Donald Flood of Englewood, Fl. He also survived by 9 Grandchildren and 15 Great Grandchildren and many Nieces and Nephews. Mr. Flood was predeceased by a brother George Flood, Sister Florence and his grandson Andrew Allard. The family wishes to thank Barnwell Nursing Home and several night time aids, Shane Talerico, Terry Radley, Wendy Wright and Karen Loeffler that allowed him to return home for his last months. A calling hour will be Monday 12 - 1:00pm with a memorial service immediately following from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham. Inurnment will be in the Chatham Center Cemetery.
