Ghent, NY - Raymond Tillman, 92, of Ghent, NY passed away December 1, 2025.  Ray was born in the Bronx on September 15, 1933 to Kate Schmidt Tillman and Chas. H. Tillman. He studied art at Pratt Institute and later pursued the sciences at Utah State University, thanks to the GI Bill. Ray's defining signature in life was always his love of the natural world and appreciation for all kinds of art. He worked in several craft and design studios and then developed his own line of furniture in bronze, oak and glass after retiring from the New York State Museum. A lover of solitude, he enjoyed cruising on the Champlain Canal in one of the three boats he built. Ray instilled in his children his same love and respect for nature and shepherded them thru some difficult times.

He is survived by: his life partner of 32 years Brin Quell; his son Jason Hale Tillman and wife Wendy and daughter Kaia Luna; nephew Denny Tillman and partner Diane Epstein; and grandson Aidan Daly.  He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Tillman and their two daughters Maylein Anthea and Rohann Jenae Tillman Daly.
