Robert M. Welch Sr. 60 of Chatham died suddenly Saturday at Samaritan Hospital Troy, N.Y. Mr.Welch born June 12,1949 in Hudson,N.Y. is the son of Kenneth and Helen (Steuerwald) Welch both of Chatham. He graduated Chatham High School and attended HVCC in Troy. He was employed with Hudson Valley Cement Lines in Hudson ,N.Y. as a truck driver for 10 years. He was a manager for the Independent Cement Co. in College Point, N.Y. for 20 years, and for the past 14 years he was employed with Cumberland Farms Gulf Division in Albany, N.Y. Mr. Welch was a member of the Social Sons of Ghent V.F.W. Post #5933. Besides his parents Robert also known as "Big Bob" is survived by his wife Christine (Schermerhorn) Welch Chatham, Son Robert M. Welch Jr. and wife Jennifer of Ghent, Daughters Michele and Husband Richard Kratt Jr. of East Chatham, N.Y. and Chelsea Welch of Chatham, Brothers Richard Welch of Lebanon, Thad Welch of Ghent, Kendra Welch of Albany. Survived also by 4 Grandchildren Richard Kratt III, Karlee Kratt, Jennifer Albrecht and Lucas Welch .Funeral Services will be held Wednesday 11:00am from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham Inurnment will be in the Ghent Union Cemetery.
