Rory O'Rourke passed away at home October 7, 2008. Beloved son of Therese O'Rourke of Ghent and Thomas J. O'Rourke of Austerlitz. Born February 25th, 1955 in Pittsfield, MA and Graduated from Chatham High School in 1973. At the time of his death he was the owner of O'Rourke Contracting having spent most of his adult life as a local builder. Rory was an avid outdoorsman. He especially loved beagles and small game hunting. He was well known for his quick wit and sense of humor and will be missed by a large circle of friends. He is in the hearts and minds of a large and loving family including brothers Kevin and Juanita O'Rourke of Austerlitz, NY, Dan and Annie O'Rourke of Port Angeles, Washington, Brian and Sadie O'Rourke of Sandisfield, MA, sister Michele and John Kraham of Ghent, NY along with many nieces and nephews. Rory was predeceased by his niece Meghan N. Kraham Calling hours will be Sunday October 12 5:00 - 8:00 pm at Wenk Funeral home Chatham. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. James Catholic Church Chatham on Monday October 13, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. Interment immediately following at Ghent Union Cemetery.
