Ruth Corson Wildermuth Demler On September 15, two days before her 86th birthday, peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Cherished mother of Jacqueline Wildermuth of Ithaca, NY, Susan Bues and her husband Philip of New Lebanon, NY, Frank Wildermuth and his wife Maryjean of Philmont, NY and William Wildermuth of Cape Canaveral, FL; grandmother of Jill Hoffman, Ian Wildermuth, Alexander Eldridge, Annie Christensen, and Kristofer Wildermuth; great-grandmother to Ashleigh, Jonathan, Kayleigh, Alexie, Dillon, and Caden. She is also survived by sisters, Florence Broderick of Rahway, NJ and Kate Krutzner of Toms River, NJ, four step-grandchildren and their families, and two step-daughters, Jean Charlebois of Berne, NY and Anne Cardish of Port Charlotte, FL and their families. In addition to her parents, Ruth was predeceased by her husband, Frank Wildermuth, her second husband, George Demler of Spencertown, ten brothers, and her beloved sister, Gertrude Avens of Ghent, NY. Ruth was born on September 17, 1925 to Mr. and Mrs. Clarence George Corson of Roselle, NJ and Philmont, NY. She moved to Columbia County in 1946 following her marriage to Frank Wildermuth of Philmont. Although Ruth's family was the focus of her life, she was also active in her community, giving generously of her time. She volunteered for many organizations throughout her lifetime, including the Hospital Auxiliary as a "pink lady," the Ghent VFW Ladies' Auxiliary where she was formerly president, and the Tower Club in Spencertown. A long-time member of St. Peter's Presbyterian Church in Spencertown, NY, she served as an elder and on various committees. A memorial service celebrating Ruth's life will be held on Saturday, October 1, at 1:30 p.m. at St. Peter's Presbyterian Church. Ruth was a passionate animal lover and wildlife observer.
