Obituary

Sarah "Frances" Waters 78 of Nassau passed away suddenly Wednesday at Berkshire Medical Center. She was born October 8,1932 in Nassau to the late Ernest and Laura Wheeler. She retired from Taconic Telephone Corp in Chatham in 1994 after 26 years. She was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church in Nassau. For 24 years she served as treasurer of the United Methodist Women. She was also a member of the Church Women United, Rensselaer Chapter and served as secretary for several years. She attended a one room school from grades 1-8 and graduated from New Lebanon Central School in 1949. She graduated from Berkshire Business College in 1951. She was predeceased by her husband of 51 years Edward Waters, Sister Olive Bowe, brother Albert Wheeler and sister-in-law Joan Wheeler. She is survived by her children Bob Waters of East Chatham, Garry and his wife Bonnie Waters of East Chatham, Shari and her husband Gary Stottler of Honeoye Falls, N.Y. brother Russell Wheeler Grandchildren, Kristy Moxon, Kevin and Brian Stottler and Great Grandchildren Kali, Madeline, Abigail and Emily Moxon. Survived also by several loving and caring Nieces and Nephews and sister-in-law Jean Wheeler who was her friend and chauffer. Sarah endured many years with Scleroderma. We would like to thank her doctors Dr. Edmund Hornstein and Dr. Daniel Doyle for their care and concern. Memorial Service will be held Monday January 10 at 1:00pm from the Wenk Funeral Home Chatham, There are no calling hours. Spring interment will be in the Old Chatham Union Cemetery.
