Scott D. Jensen, born on May 24, 1960, in Hudson, NY, passed away on May 18, 2026, at the age of 65 in Schenectady, NY, due to complications from juvenile diabetes, which he bravely battled for 64 years.

Scott dedicated 25 years of his life to public service, working diligently in bill jacketing for the New York State Senate before enjoying a well-deserved retirement. A man of many talents and passions, Scott was known for his love of the Boston Red Sox and his remarkable ability to fix or build almost anything. He spent much of his time in his garage—a place that, in his later years, friends and family fondly called the "Best Bar in Austerlitz." People gathered there for laughter, stories, and good times, drawn to his warm humor and endless music collection. He was an avid storyteller who could captivate anyone in conversation for hours.

Scott was an uncle at heart, living out the truest definition of the word every day, something he took great pride in. Whether by birth or by choice, to know him was to have an uncle in your corner. His legacy of kindness and love will continue to live on in the hearts of his family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, Warren Jensen, and mother, Emma Jensen, both of Austerlitz, NY, as well as by his brother, Joe Meaney, of Ghent, NY. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Victoria, of Austerlitz, NY. He leaves behind his sisters, Wendy Diskin (Greg) of Austerlitz, NY, and Patricia Hartl (Darrell) of Delmar, NY; his sister-in-law, Lisa Meaney of Ghent, NY; nephews Sean Diskin (Beth) of Charlotte, NC, and Jason Meaney of Delmar, NY; nieces Jessica Fairbairn (Kevin) of Hudson, NY, and Brianna O'Rourke (Kevin) of Albany, NY; and great-nephew Emmett Fairbairn and great-nieces Elaina & Alexia Fairbairn and Collins & Teagan O'Rourke. He is also survived by his beloved siblings; brothers‑ and sisters‑in‑law; nieces and nephews on Victoria's side; and an uncle, aunts and numerous cousins who meant so much to him.

A celebration of Scott's life will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2026, at 10:30 AM at St. Peter's Presbyterian Church in Spencertown, NY.
