Shirley Brown Rosen passed away March 6, 2015, at Albany Medical Center after a brief illness. Shirley was born December 13, 1923 in Albany, NY to Jules E. and Nettie (Rosenberg) Brown. She graduated from Chatham High School, Keuka College and Columbia University. Shirley was a School Psychologist for many years at Germantown Central Schools, BOCES and John L. Edwards Elementary School in Hudson. Shirley is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, H. Murray Rosen, her sons Michael (Karen) of Chatham, NY and Daniel (Ellen) of South Orange, NJ, her grandchildren, Jennifer Rosen and Steven Rosen of Chatham, NY and Sam Rosen and Jay Rosen of South Orange, NJ. She is also survived by a sister, Ellen (the late Saul) Barber of Worcester, MA and a brother Donald (June) Brown of Baltimore, MD as well as a niece and five nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Friends of the Chatham Public Library, 11 Woodbridge Ave., Chatham, NY 12037 or the Tri-Village Fire Co., 111 County Route 13, Old Chatham, NY 12136. Calling hours will be Saturday March 21, 2015 at Wenk Funeral Home, Payn Avenue, Chatham, NY from 2-4 PM. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
