The world became dimmer with the passing of Steven "Silky" Johnson on September 30, 2025. Steve was a loving husband to Tina, devoted father to Brandon and Jamie Johnson, and a loyal friend to many. Steve was known for his goofy sense of humor as well as his generosity, always being the first to lend a hand while never expecting anything in return. He had a lifelong passion for dirt car racing, whether behind the wheel, cheering from the sidelines or helping any crew in need because the track was his happy place. Steve was predeceased by his father, William Johnson, mother, Gloria Johnson, sister Lisa Thompson, and his soulmate and wife, Tina Johnson. He is survived by his two sons, and his additional three siblings. "Silky" took his final lap and crossed the finish line to live on with Tina in eternal peace. A celebration of life will be held in the Spring of 2026 in his memory with a date to be determined.
