Obituary

Theron Anthony Sartori

September 17, 1956 – January 4, 2026

Theron was born in Columbia Memorial Hospital in Hudson, New York on September 17, 1956, the son of Austin and Nyra Rossman Sartori.  He attended the Ghent School, grades 1-5, and loved being a player on the Ghent VFW Little League team.  He later attended Chatham Central High School and the Landmark School in Prides Crossing, Massachusetts, receiving his High School Equivalency diploma.

Most of Theron's adult life was spent living on Leggett Road in West Ghent (Omi).  More recently he resided in Cohoes NY.

In January 1968, on a day off from school – it was a snow day, Theron had a sleigh riding accident – always a dare devil weaving between the trees on the hill behind his grandmother's house– resulting in a traumatic brain injury.   Despite the handicap caused by his injury, Theron was able to lead a good life; he loved making carved wood sculptures from downed trees near his home, he loved collecting Indian arrow heads and he loved riding his motorcycle.

He is survived by his sister Polly Sartori and her husband, Stephen Sheehy, and his very best friend from childhood, Harry "Oochie" Sitzer.
