Thomas L. Shanahan Sr. went home to with his Lord and Savior on December 20, 2025. He was born September 27, 1942 to the late Lawrence and Ella (Renken) Shanahan. He was a life long resident of Chatham, where he worked as a truck driver for over 40 years and had a great fondness for steam locomotives.

He is predeceased by his wife Lyla Shanahan and son John Shanahan. He is survived by his daughter Christy and Husband Wayne Drowne, Son Tom and wife Lori Shanahan. Grandaughters, Kelly Shanahan and Julia (Cezary) Shanahan, Brother Daniel Shanahan, Nieces and Nephews Wendy, Greg, Emily (Mike) and Larry Shanahan and his Aunt Margaret Fischer and many cousins.
