William F. Demars 78 of Kinderhook died Saturday at Hospice Inn at St Peter's Hospital. Mr. Demars born May 14,1932 in Ilion, N.Y. is the son of the late Edmund and Loretta (Scott) Demars. He graduated from Amsterdam High School and was a veteran of the U. S. Navy from '52 - '54. Mr. Demars with his wife the Late Mary (Chester) moved to the Ghent -Chatham area in 1963 whereby he started his 40 year career as a car salesman having served his last 20 years of service with Kinderhook Toyota. retiring in 2009. He was a member of the Hudson and Kinderhook Elk's Club, Past Commander of the Ghent V.F.W. Post #5933, member of the Chatham American Legion Post #42, Communicant of St James R.C. Church Chatham. A sports fan of Golf, Tennis and Bowling, He was assistant Pro at Wolferts Roost in Loudonville, Past Champion at Winding Brook Country Club with a club record of 64. Mr. Demars is survived by 3 sons, Patrick Demars of Phoenix, Az, Michael and wife Liza Demars of North Greenbush, William F. Demars Jr. and wife Sandra of East Greenbush, Sister Anne Chambers of Kansas 5 Grandchildren and 2 step Grandchildren. and dear friend Carol Tuczinski . Besides his wife Mary he was predeceased by a brother Joseph Mass of Christian burial will be held Tuesday 10:00am from the St James R.C. Church Chatham. Interment will be in the St James Cemetery.
