Zoë Elizabeth Dyer was born on July 10, 2000, at St. Peter’s Hospital. From an early age, Zoë had a love for animals, the outdoors, and anything she could set her mind to. Some of her earliest memories were made showing cows at the Chatham Fair, a place she loved and that would remain part of her story throughout her life.
Zoë graduated from Chatham High School in 2018 and went on to study Early Childhood Development at Columbia-Greene Community College. She also attended Mildred Elley School to pursue nursing. Over the years, she worked alongside her family at the family-owned Skyview Fencing and Pole Barns, as well as at Little Wonders and Capital Milestones. Her work with children ultimately became a natural extension of the caring, capable person she had always been.
Zoë was an accomplished antique tractor puller, competing with her beloved Super H, Little Bitty. She began pulling at just 16 years old and competed in the Super Stock class with the New York Tractor Pullers Association (NYTPA), achieving third place in points in the Super Stock class in 2019.
She later competed in the Super Modified Two Wheel Drive (SMTWD) class with NYTPA, first behind the wheel of the borrowed Royal Pain SMTWD, thanks to Will LaRue, and later with her family-owned Loose Cannon SMTWD. Tractor pulling was much more than a sport to Zoë. It was something she loved, something she worked hard at, and a community in which she made countless memories and friendships.
Zoë was also a master deer hunter who could even show her dad how it was done. Whether she was hunting, pulling tractors, working, caring for children, or taking on something completely new, Zoë was the kind of person who could do anything she truly set her mind to.
Above all, Zoë was an amazing daughter, sister, friend, girlfriend, fiancée, and, most recently, a fantastic mom.
Zoë leaves behind her fiancé, Joseph “Joe” Best, and their son, Callahan Best; her father, Todd Dyer; her mother, Justine Dyer; her sister, Olivia Dyer; her stepmother, Kelly McCagg; her stepsister, Jennifer Nesbitt; her stepbrother, Bradly Nesbitt; her step nieces, Gabby and Sophia Nesbitt; her step nephew, Brayden Nesbitt; her paternal grandparents, Skip and Densy Dyer; her maternal grandmother, Sue Navarra; and her maternal aunt and uncle, Chris and Scott Monthie as well as countless friends and fans.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandfather, Robert Navarra. For on-line condolences, visit wenkfuneralhome.com Memorial contributions can be made to https://gofund.me/1b1c54c38
